Hey there! My name is Alyx. I'm from the D.C. Metropolitan area and live with my boyfriend, our best friend, and my brother (who we rent from). We have two dogs and a leopard gecko. We affectionately call our house "The Commune". We all work at my family's gymnastics center in Rockville, MD.
I grew up on the internet starting from 14. I'm not one of those who doesn't know how to interact with others in the real world... but I do prefer communication that is text based with people I met online. I find I have more time to collect my thoughts that are generally too fast for my mouth to formulate properly every time I open it.
I'm a 30-year-old woman renting instead of buying, working instead of rearing children, working for family instead of using my education for a 'real job'. Don't get me wrong. If I had money for it, I'd have a mortgage and children. Go figure, I'm like every other twenty something in the United States.
I am known for being outgoing, quirky, creative, and bluntly honest. I'm very vocal in my journey with mental health. My bullet journal came about to combat anxiety and depression. I've been more functional than I have been in a long time, in large part because of my passion for my bullet journal and the amazing bullet journal community. My bullet journal has inspired me to spread awareness through social media and this blog about mental health. I also really want beginner bullet journalists to know that there are REAL bullet journals too! They don't have to look perfect, they just need to function for YOUR needs.
I know there's that guilty pleasure in all of us for curiosity and knowing people's lives. You can learn more about me and all my drama in the menu under 'Bio'! :)
